“My company was in search of communication equipment to improve the communication between our department heads while on our production floor.
I ordered the T465 from Digital Nerds.
We received our order and immediately saw an increase in our productivity.
We had one unit that failed and I contacted Digital Nerds about replacement. We received a replacement unit the next day and was not required to return the failed unit.
Satisfied with the product and with Roy who handled the customer service on behalf of Digital Nerds.“

All-Season Use
Thanks to the inclusion of Motorola’s IP54 technology, the Talkabout T465 is weatherproof, so you can rest easy in the knowledge that your radio is ready to use, whatever the conditions. Even in heavy snow or torrential rain, your two-way will let you stay in contact with your team or call for help.
Big Wireless Range
With an unobstructed line of sight and little interference, the Motorola Talkabout has an impressive maximum range of 35 miles. In residential areas and those with heavy interference, you get a respectable 2-mile range. Perhaps you’re a fisherman (or woman), and you’re taking your skiff out around the coast, or perhaps you can’t resist the lure of the bigger ocean creatures and you’ve got yourself a turbo-charged sportsfishing boat. Well, these two-ways work exceptionally well on the open seas, and boast a maximum range of 6 miles. So whatever you’re doing, you’ve got plenty of wireless range. Just remember the range you get is impacted by interference, obstructions, and climatic conditions.
Privacy and Security
When you’re feeling sociable, you can use the scanning feature to find channels that are in use and, providing you’ve got the right settings, you can jump into the conversation. If you want to keep your chatter restricted to your friends and comrades, simply choose from any of the 22 channels and 121 privacy codes. That’s an incredible 2,622 combinations, so it’s easy to establish a private channel for you and your buds.
As long as your crew all have Motorola radios, you can experience further privacy by making use of the QT function. This filters out any transmissions from non-Motorola radios, which is particularly convenient in high-traffic areas. Ensuring that you can communicate effectively with your whole team, the Motorola Talkabout is compatible with any other brand, providing you’re on the same channel and privacy setting, and aren’t using the Quiet Talk feature.
Make sure you don’t lose your saved settings by simply locking the keypad.
Be Weather-Ready
Whenever you’re enjoying the Great Outdoors, there’s always a chance that nature will sneak up on you and unleash unfavorable conditions. However, the Talkabout T465 isn’t just a two-way. It doubles up as a weather alert radio, too. Boasting 11 weather channels, including 7 NOAA, this great piece of kit lets you stay up to date with the forecast. You can also activate the weather alert function, so you’re never taken by surprise. Be prepared and stay safe by always being weather-ready. By acting as a two-way and a weather radio, the T465 allows you to make a single purchase and, weighing in at just 0.43 pounds (including the battery), reduces the weight of your kit and space in your pack.
Don’t Spook the Fauna
When you’re stalking prey, a loud ring tone is a disaster. You’ll instantly spook all the wildlife in your vicinity. But, if you’ve got a T465, you can activate VibraCall. Instead of ringing, your radio will simply vibrate discreetly, which is incredibly useful when you really need to stay quiet.
Convenience
For maximum convenience, the Talkabout T465 lets you talk hands-free, whenever you need to. Stay in touch with your buddies safely while you’re climbing, using the iVOX/VOX feature as a speakerphone, so your hands are free for the climb.
When you need help fast, the Motorola T465 boasts an Emergency Alert button that transmits a loud siren as well as spoken or incidental sounds. Activating the alert automatically turns up the volume on all the receiving radios in your group and locks their buttons for a full 30 seconds to ensure your message is heard.
For peace of mind, the T465 has NiMH rechargeable batteries with a 10-hour battery life and can also be used with 3 disposable AA batteries for up to 26 hours of use. The display also alerts you when the batteries are running low, so you’ll never unexpectedly run out of power.
