This is a review for an older smartphone that I remembered having used for some time. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i was a smartphone that I owned for a few weeks and I have not regretted the money I paid for it. It is a smartphone with lots of functions and facilities for programs close the ones that computer interfaces offer. From my point of view I like to consider it a mini / micro notebook; you do your work on it almost like a netbook / notebook.
I will start with the disadvantages that in my opinion are little compared with the benefits that this terminal offers.
One of them would be the 1500 mAh battery which lasts no more than two days of low-medium use. If you don’t button it frequently you will get more than 2 days of it but not incredibly more. In terms of maximum use you should have the charger with you at all times, because it will not live more than one day. This is a big weakness, but I hope the new version of the Android operating system achieves a lower power consumption, because the running version on it is older. If not, I can only hope that more powerful batteries can be bought compared to the one that the phone features out of the box. I do not know if it is even a disadvantage or just falls under smartphones category, because as I think about the iPhone the battery lasts a similar period. The main difference is that the iPhone battery can’t be changed. We will see what the future holds.
Another disadvantage from my point of view is the flash, or rather the LED for the camera. I used a C902 Sony Ericsson that still has a LED for the flash but there is more light in taking pictures. With this taken into consideration, you will take no shots with the Xperia 10i in the dark, which is a major disadvantage considering the fact that the camera is 8.1 Mega pixels. The flash is a big weakness compared to previous models from Sony.
Another distressing problem for me are programs that can not be uninstalled, installed as standard by the people at Sony. Any Manager program that you install does not discover them. Personally I want to uninstall Moxier, a remote mail program and a few useful things but these are things that for me worth nothing as I use something else. The program can’t be uninstalled and has 5 icons in the programs tab. You can remove icons with a little hack but the program is still installed.
